CERTIFICATION & TRAINING

With the goal of achieving free vocal expression, Emily Millard has been studying the voice devotedly for twenty years. Embodying techniques from internationally renowned vocalists and vocal coaches, she delivers memorable performances throughout Canada and Europe. 

Emily's training spans a wide range of disciplines, from classical technique to Functional Voice Training. She is fully certified vocal instructor in Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, a body-based approach to vocal pedagogy, which she learned directly from master voice coach Jeannette LoVetri. She studied vocal improvisation with jazz vocalist Sidsel Endresen at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, Functional Voice Training & Feldenkrais with Dagmar Apel at Opera America in NYC, vocal jazz performance with Cheryl Hodge and Laura Landsberg at Selkirk College in Nelson BC and classical technique with opera singer Margaret Brown in Ottawa. Emily is currently serving as voice and songwriting instructor at the Contemporary Music & Technology Program at Selkirk College in Nelson BC. She was the director of the Vancouver's Kingsgate Choir from 2019-2022 and served as voice faculty at  Voice Works in Port Townsend, Washington in 2019.
